Our puppies are typically ready to go home at 8 weeks of age, once they’ve been fully weaned, vet-checked, and have started early socialization. This timeline ensures they are healthy, confident, and developmentally ready for the transition to their forever families. We’ll always provide an estimated go-home date at the time of reservation.

Yes — all of our parent dogs are DNA tested to identify the coat types and genetic traits they carry, which helps us make responsible, informed breeding decisions. While our puppies are placed in pet homes only and don’t come with individual DNA reports, each pup is thoroughly health panel tested by a licensed veterinarian before going to their new home. This ensures you’re receiving a healthy, well-cared-for puppy you can trust.

Yes — all of our puppies come with AKC registration. However, breeding rights are reserved by Shawty Got Pups, as our puppies are intended for pet homes only. This policy helps us ensure the integrity of our breeding program and the continued health and well-being of the breed.

Our puppies are raised in a hands-on, loving home environment where early development is a top priority. Once they’re of age and have received their vaccinations, we take them on carefully monitored visits to local pet stores and public places to build confidence and real-world exposure. We also incorporate early neurological stimulation techniques recommended by a genetic specialist to support healthy brain development and social skills. Puppies are introduced to a variety of toys, textures, and tastes to encourage curiosity and adaptability. They remain with their mother and interact with other adult dogs in our home to learn proper behavior and social cues, helping them grow into well-adjusted, emotionally balanced companions.

The average lifespan of a French Bulldog is 10 to 12 years, though many live longer with proper care. At Shawty Got Pups, we prioritize breeding for health and longevity — focusing on clear airways, strong structure, and sound temperament — which can help support a longer, healthier life for your Frenchie.

At Shawty Got Pups, we specialize in a variety of rare and standard French Bulldog colors, including lilac, blue, chocolate, merle, cream, and fawn, as well as combinations with tan points or piebald markings. We also occasionally produce fluffy coat Frenchies, depending on the pairing. While color and coat type can vary, every puppy is bred with our signature focus on health, temperament, and structure first, ensuring that no matter the look, you’re getting a well-rounded, happy pup.

Our French Bulldogs typically reach an adult weight of 18 to 25 pounds, depending on their genetics. We focus on producing compact, well-structured Frenchies with balanced builds that are easy to manage at home or on the go — the perfect size for cuddling on the couch or adventuring by your side.

Do Frenchies need training?
Yes — like all dogs, French Bulldogs benefit from consistent training and structure. They’re intelligent and eager to please but can also be a little stubborn, so early socialization and basic obedience go a long way. Positive reinforcement works best, and with patience, they become well-mannered, loving companions.

Do Frenchies need to be groomed?
Frenchies are a low-maintenance breed when it comes to grooming. Their short coat requires only occasional brushing to keep it healthy and reduce shedding. However, their facial wrinkles, ears, and paws should be cleaned regularly to prevent buildup or irritation. Nail trims and occasional baths are also part of keeping your Frenchie fresh and healthy.

No — at Shawty Got Pups, we do not breed first-time or inexperienced females. All of our mommas have previously had litters with other reputable breeders. We believe in working with females who have already gone through the emotional and physical transition of motherhood, which helps ensure a more stable and nurturing experience for both the mom and her puppies. This approach also helps reduce risk and stress, supporting the health and well-being of the entire litter.

Yes — when available, we’re happy to arrange a meet-and-greet with the puppy’s mother. Since we sometimes partner with outside breeders, the father may not always be on-site, especially if he’s owned by another breeder an hour or more away. However, we’re always transparent about each pup’s lineage and can provide photos, videos, or additional information about both parents upon request.

No — our puppies are sold as pets only, and breeding is strictly prohibited. It is clearly outlined in our contract that all puppies must be spayed or neutered within the first year of ownership. This policy helps us maintain the integrity of our program, protect the breed’s health, and ensure that every pup is placed in a loving, non-breeding home.

If your puppy passes away from an illness within the first year or is diagnosed with a serious health condition that severely impacts their quality of life, our health guarantee outlines clear protocols. In most cases, this includes the option to return the puppy for a full refund or be matched with a new puppy from a current or upcoming litter. Our goal is always to do right by our families and our pups, and we stand behind our commitment to responsible breeding and long-term health.

Yes! We proudly offer lifetime breeder support for all of our families — for as long as Shawty Got Pups remains an active business. Whether you have questions about training, health, care, or just want to share updates, we’re here to support you and your pup every step of the way.

To reserve a puppy, simply contact us directly and we’ll walk you through the process. If you’re not local or choose not to meet in person before purchase, we offer FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype meetings so you can connect with us and see the puppy virtually. Once you’ve chosen your pup, a small deposit secures your reservation and ensures no one else can claim them.

Joining our waitlist is easy — just contact us directly, and a member of our team will add you to our email, text, or call list based on your preference. You’ll be notified as soon as new litters become available, typically around 3 weeks of age, once we’ve begun evaluating each puppy’s development and temperament.
